Whitney Duncan Celebrates CMA Fest With Her Fans

Whitney Duncan held a party for her fans at Buffalo Billiards during CMA Fest in Nashville. There was a large line of fans that have been waiting at the front door of the venue way before the doors were to open.

During the party, the fans were served with a variety of “Skinny Dippin’ Dots” ice cream and beverages. Whitney played an acoustic set of her fans favorite songs, such as “Little by Little”, “Kinda Crazy”, “Skinny Dippin”, “Right Road Now”, “Burn it Down”, “When I Said I Would”, and “So Sorry Mama”. In between songs Whitney answered any questions that fans asked, and even had a special guest, her dog, Duchess!

The fan party had a limited number of 150 guests. However, Whitney wanted all of her fans to be able attend, so we went over the guest limit a little. Due to Whitney’s huge appreciation this caused the event to go over the scheduled time by close to an hour because she wanted to sign, and get pictures made with every person that attended.

Here is what Ms Whitney had to say about her first fan party:

“I was amazed and excited to see how many fans came to my first fan club party! It was a blast and the very least I could do for the people that support my music and career. I hope everyone enjoyed the Dippin’ Dots! I didn’t even get any *laughs*, It really was an event I will always remember!”

On a side note, Whitney and the 4 girls, Jenna, Lisa, Alyssa, and Brittney (twitter- @whitduncanfans and fan website,
www.whitneyduncanfans.com) from 3 different states finally got a chance to get a picture with Whitney.

You can purchase Whitney’s new album, “Right Road Now” on iTunes, and a physical copy on www.whitneyduncan.com/store

The Battle of the Grand Ole Opry & After Midnite with Blair Garner

The friendly battle between the Grand Ole Opry and the After Midnite with Blair Garner teams continued tonight at Greer Stadium in Nashville.  Known as the “unofficial kickoff” to CMA Fest, the City of Hope Celebrity Softball Challenge is always a crowd pleaser.  With big names like Carrie Underwood, Chuck Wicks, Craig Morgan, David Nail, Jason Aldean, Joe Nichols, Josh Thompson, Luke Bryan, Mallary Hope, Melissa Peterman, The Band Perry, Whitney Duncan, and many others fans know they are in for a treat.

For the last 21 years the Softball Challenge has helped raise funds and awareness for City of Hope’s lifesaving mission (http://www.cityofhope.org).

For the first 4 innings of the game you would have thought it was going to be a total shut-out with the Grand Ole Opry team not holding back and leading 10 -4.  But the trash talk and friendly bantering must have given the After Midnite team just the motivation they needed.  With a huge comeback in the 6th inning the After Midnite team tied up the game and came back to win in an extra inning!

The final score:
After Midnite with Blair Garner Team – 15
Grand Ole Opry Team – 10

A big surprise for fans tonight was seeing Carrie Underwood’s fiance, Mike Fisher, added to the Grand Ole Opry lineup.   To help celebrate their recent engagement, Blair Garner and her team members treated Carrie and Mike to a surprise bridal shower on the field.   With gifts like towels, bowls and hand clean up items thrown at the couple they almost forgot there was a ball game being played.

The evening was full of great surprises and fun had by all for a great cause.  For more information about City of Hope please visit their website at: http://www.cityofhope.org.

Whitney Duncan at Typhoon Saloon – A Fan Review

Prior to the show she did a meet and greet with the other artists performing. Whitney stood around one table talking to her fans. I went up to talk to her. I had met her back in 2008 when she was doing her radio tour. I have been a fan of hers since I saw “When I said I Would.” When I had heard through eventful she would be coming to San Diego I was excited beyond belief and bought a VIP ticket the day they went on sale.

When I met her I had brought her 2007 CD to get autographed. I already had Right Road Now autographed. We had a conversation about it, and she said they were selling the new CD. I told her I bought it the day it came out. She thanked me for that. I said that I almost wore the shirt to try to get her to sign it. Her reply was she would have. Whitney was extremely personable. At the end of the conversation I told her she had beautiful eyes. I ran into a friend there and she had never heard of Whitney Duncan, but by the end she was a fan too.

During the show she played song from Right Road Now. She was the second person to sing each time. Patrick Davis was first, Whitney, John Eddie, and Jason Michael Carroll. She opened with Kinda Crazy, Then When I said I would, with explicit lyrics, she should release this version too. I really liked it. Then she told a story about Skinny Dippin’ and ended it with Little by little. There was a lot of joking around on stage.

She is one of the most beautiful women on the planet and after meeting her the first time I became a fan and after she wrote to me on her website I became a fan for life. She is an extremely talented lady. I forgot to ask about her bikini shoot and her heart surgery. It was a great performance from an extremely talented lady. I hope she comes to San Diego again soon.

Celebrity Tattle Tale Whitney Duncan Wraps Up April

Well, this’ll be wrapping up April blogs! Wow…this month has flown by. Lots of exciting stuff has happened, album release being the main thing!

If you haven’t gotten it yet, please do so. Not a ton of stuff has happened this past week- kinda got to relax this last week while we figure out the next steps in my career…(which ya’ll will be VERY excited about, once I’m able to let them out of the bag). Can’t give away details, but last weekend was the best weekend of my life so far. Let’s just say this next record might have more positive love songs. :) haha.

So I will be writing & recording this next month, with a few shows here and there and more popping up all the time. So just keep a check on my tour dates on my website whitneyduncan.com. I’m particularly excited about May 19th in San Diego, since I’m also going to make it into a semi-vacation. :) I haven’t had one of those in a while. I will see you all at the CMA Fest, I hope. More details to come…  We’re trying to figure everything out and so much is pending right now. This is a good thing!

I just wanna say that I love ya’ll & wanna thank you for sticking with me and supporting my music!! I couldn’t ask for more dedicated fans. Check out whitneyduncanfans.com if you haven’t already…they do a great job at keeping you updated.

Celebrity Tattle Tale Whitney Duncan Says Thank You and is on the Right Road Now

Hey ya’ll!!! First of all, I wanna thank you soooo much for buying my album “Right Road Now!” It’s OUT, FINALLY!!! I was so excited Monday night I couldn’t sleep. We worked so hard on it for a long time, then it was just waiting (almost 2 years) for it to come out. I’m so grateful to Warner Brothers for releasing to ya’ll! In case you don’t know, you can get a physical copy from the website, or digital copy at iTunes or Amazon.com. As of right now, it’s #8 on the Country iTunes chart…so please, if you haven’t got it yet, go get it! :) I wanna thank whitneyduncanfans.com too. Check it out- it’s an awesome fan site run by some great girls. I love the video ya’ll made me, so thanks to everyone involved!

I had a blast at the ACMs!!!! What a great weekend! I got there last Friday, played a little blackjack (won $200), then later rode the rollercoaster at New York, New York with my manager & Steel Magnolia. There is a great picture of Meg and me with our mouths wide open screaming…hope that picture is never seen by anyone. lol

Saturday, I had radio remotes all morning long. That’s where you go in a big room & walk around to visit all the radio stations and do interviews. Unfortunately, I had no time to go to the pool that afternoon, :( but I did get to go to the Gary Allan show at Mandalay Bay. He is such a great artist!

Sunday was the big day… I went to the lady’s room who was going to do my hair & makeup, & guess who came to hang out? Bomshel!! Those girls are awesome, and we had so much fun. So while Lo did my makeup, Kelley painted my fingernails. Then I walked the orange carpet!! Fifteen minutes into the carpet interviews, my feet were KILLING me!!! Never again will I wear those shoes…they were cute, but they were awful to walk in. My feet are used to boots…not heels. The show was GREAT! I thought everybody sounded really good. After the show were the after parties… I went to the All Star Jam for a bit, then just hang out with good friends all night (till about 4:30am). Then I flew back to Nashville for my ALBUM RELEASE & Whit’s Wit live chat (had a blast talking to ya’ll)! I also played Fox Tennessee Mornings Wednesday morning…had fun chatting with Kelly & Shane. Also GAC On The Streets episode aired this week with mine and Suzanne’s interview. They also showed the video for “Right Road Now”…if you want the video to that song, it’s available on iTunes as well. This week, I just get to enjoy the awesome feeling of having my first album out! I can’t thank ya’ll enough for buying it & supporting me.

Whitney Duncan’s Right Road Now Video Details and More!

Whitney Duncan is CMTT’s Celebrity Tattle Tale this month and she is sharing all of the juicy details about what she has been up to, what fans can expect in the upcoming months and some of her plans for CMA Fest.

Wow! A week has just flown by! I got to spend a relaxing weekend at home with my family & my dog, Duchess. I got a new iPhone 3GS, so if you follow me on Twitter, I posted a little video of Duchess. I’m going to enjoy that new feature on my phone for sure:)

On Monday, I shot “5 Things You Probably Don’t Know About Me” for GAC (ya’ll should enjoy that one, it’s gonna be pretty funny) & also did an interview with the lovely Suzanne Alexander about MY ALBUM RELEASE!! Suzanne told me that she actually runs to my music…that’s pretty cool! I know I have a little exercise mix to get me going, it’s nice to know I made someone else’s mix.

SOOO sorry about all the confusion about Whit’s Wit chat this week. I had it on my calendar for next week April 20th to celebrate the release of the album, but I saw on Facebook where it said April 13th. No biggie, just a mix up. I was just gonna tell ya’ll about the new music video that came out today, Thursday, April 15th on AOL’s theboot.com. It’s a video for the song & title track “Right Road Now.”

We shot this video the day before we shot the “When I Said I Would” video, so I’m very excited for ya’ll to finally get it! I watched yesterday for the first time in a long time, and I really like this video. Also, next week you will be able to purchase it on iTunes the same day as the album April 20th. YAY!! Let me know what ya’ll think of the video when you get to see it tomorrow.

Yesterday my bass player, Michael, took my phone & made a picture of me right before I got my new tattoo (this makes 3 for me) and posted it on Twitter. Ever since I was a little girl, I have LOVED tattoos. I don’t want a lot – I will probably stop after 4 or 5. :) Before I’ve gotten each of my tattoos, I ask myself, “Will this still pertain to my life when I’m 80 (God willing I live that long)?” If I answer yes, then it’s a GO! I only get things that really mean something to me. Now I know there are some people that are totally against tattoos (So Sorry Mama, ha), but you can’t live your life afraid of what someone else may think. I’m not gonna show ya’ll just yet what I got…gonna let it heal up a bit & will be sporting it on the red carpet this weekend at the ACMs!!!

Speaking of the ACMs… Can’t wait for ya’ll to see my dress! I will give 1 hint: it’s short. I wore a long dress at the CMAs, so decided to pick a really different dress for Vegas. It’s always fun to go to events where I have to get my hair and makeup done and dress up! I’m going in today to figure out what shoes I will be wearing with my awesome dress. I still have to figure out what jewelry I’m going to wear too. I was in Walgreen’s yesterday & ran into Crystal Hoyt from Trailer Choir, and she didn’t have her wardrobe quite figured out yet either. We both bought a Country Weekly (actually I bought 3) & chatted for a bit. Pick up your copy this week, there is a 2 page article about “Right Road Now”.

It’s less than a week before ya’ll will be hopefully listening to my ALBUM!!!!! I’m so freaking excited I can hardly stand it!! Thank ya’ll for all your continued support of my music. Without you, this record would not be coming out. Thank you for spreading the word about my album…keep at it, tell everyone! :)

XOXOXOXOXOXOXO,
whit

p.s. CMA Fest week is shaping up…fan party ideas are brewing & it’s gonna be soooo fun…hopefully I will have more news about that week soon……..stay tuned.

Whitney Duncan – CMTT’s April Celebrity Tattle Tale

Whitney Duncan is CMTT’s Celebrity Tattle Tale for the month of April.  All this month she will be sending you messages about what she is doing, where she is going and giving you more info about her upcoming album release.  Stay tuned and keep an eye out all this month for exciting news from Whit!    http://www.whitneyduncan.com

Hey everybody! So it’s been a while since I’ve blogged…well, that’s because I’ve been so dang busy. I just got back from Kuwait & Iraq last week. I think my body is still getting used to our time zone. We were there for 2 weeks and played 5 shows for the troops. It was the coolest trip I’ve ever been on, hands down. The soldiers were so receptive & happy that we were there. Some of them have been there for a while, and some of them are going home soon. It was really cool to hear some of the stories from the guys. All of them said the hardest thing about what they do is being away from family, and I know it’s just as hard on the families. But I tell you what, being over there with them kinda made us (me & the band guys) all want to sign up:) Now obviously that’s not an option since my album is coming out APRIL 20th!!!!!!

But anyway, we got to do some really cool things…like shoot a machine gun, which was my favorite. We got to stay in one of Saddam’s palaces a few nights, other nights our lodging wasn’t quite as nice. ;) I guess the weirdest thing was seeing all these lakes in Baghdad, of course they were man-made, actually Saddam-made so he could swim or perhaps skinny dip, I’m not sure. lol We got to tour the Victory over Iran palace & Victory over America palace (in which there was no victory, especially since we were the ones to bomb the thing). One room in the Victory over America palace was the size of a football field – too bad we didn’t have a football. Another thing that was very interesting was Saddam’s love of pastel colors. They were everywhere! It looked like Easter had thrown up on everything! Interesting. And very beautiful too. The band & I got to be a part of a soldier’s reenlistment, and it was very emotional & inspiring. Soldiers can choose to do their reenlistment ceremony anywhere, anytime, and for him to choose to do it with us was very cool. All the shows went great, and it was good to spend some time with the guys afterwards at the meet and greets. At the very last show at Camp Slayer, it rained on us, but we stuck it out and finished the show. I’ve never played in the rain before. It was kinda fun except for the part where my mouth was filling up with water while I was singing. Hahaha! We were very well taken care of over there. I literally felt like the President riding around in our SUVs & wearing our bulletproof vests & helmets. I will remember this experience forever.

After I got back, I realized I had gained a few pounds from all the good eats on the military bases (ice cream at every meal will do that), and had to get ready for a bathing suit photo shoot in Malibu, CA. So I ran, did some hot yoga, & tried to eat healthy before I left. We landed in Los Angeles Sunday afternoon to find out there had been an earthquake. I’ve never been in an earthquake, and I’d like to keep it that way. :) We woke up Monday morning (day of shoot) to rainy, cold weather. Ugh!! I was supposed to shoot the cover of First magazine on the beach in the sun. There was NO SUN!! So after we got our Jamba Juice (which is the 1st thing I get when I’m on the west coast), God decided to clear it up for us. Sun came out, rain went away, the wind continued, & it did not get any warmer. So I was on the beach in my bathing suit shivering, teeth chattering, while trying to smile. It was pretty funny! I think we got some great shots though! I guess I’ll find out when I get to see the pictures back. What’s the first thing I eat after I get back into real clothes? PINKBERRY!! SOOO good. Also, pizza & onion rings were to follow. I figured I deserved it after being out in the cold all afternoon. We had to fly back to Nashville Tuesday morning, and it was nice to come home to gorgeous weather! Let’s just hope it lasts.

Talk to ya’ll next week…or you can follow me on Twitter.com/whitneyduncan to find out my every move in life. Hahaha!

Christian Kane is Giving Fans New Music on March 9th

I received an email from one of our readers today, Steph, who had some new country music news for us.  I admit I know very little about what I am getting ready to write about so for those of you reading who have more information please leave me some comments.

Christian Kane has apparently been singing country music for a very long time and has a new EP that will be available on iTunes March 9th.   (iTunes link)  If you are not sure who Christian is you may recognize him from the TV show Angel and more recently he has been in the hit TNT series Leverage.

I wasn’t aware Christian sang country music (gonna have to head over to YouTube and check it out).  The only country music relationship I was aware of is with country cutie Whitney Duncan.  So for those of  you who are familiar with his music….leave us comments and tell us what he’s all about.
