So, it appears that JLo (that’s Jennifer Lopez for all you non-awesome people) may be out of the American Idol judge running…but People.com is reporting that Shania Twain may be back in. The network has had their eyes on Shania since she played mentor last season.

They’ve been after her ever since she was a mentor on the show last season,” the source says. “And they haven’t given up.”

So far, there is no confirmation from either party that Shania is on a short list of possible Simon Cowell replacements, but time will tell. Personally, I think she’s a better choice than Jennifer Lopez…I mean…Jennifer has always been more of an actress than a singer.

Shania Twain loves being an American Idol judge.  According to People.com, Shania is having a great time working on the show, and even Simon Cowell gets along with her.

“She’s loving American Idol. She’s having the best time,” says a source close to the singer, who is filling Paula Abdul’s vacant seat during auditions Monday and Tuesday in the Windy City. “She and Simon have a really great rapport with each other. They’re funny together.”

It’s obvious Shania is in a great place and in great spirits.

The crew loved working with her,” says an Idol source. “Everyone thought she was a great addition to the judges’ table. She showed up in good spirits and had a lot of fun. She was clearly really excited to be a part of the day.”
