Rascal Flatts Close Out the KY State Fair With a BANG!

I feel like I have written a Rascal Flatts concert review every week this summer.  I’m not complaining, just wondering what on earth I am going to write about after this.   Last night Rascal Flatts closed out the 2010 Kentucky State Fair and blew the roof off of Freedom Hall.

The high energy show was no disappointment to fans and fair goers.  Chris Young and Kellier Pickler both offer a stand out show and keep the crowd entertained and singing along to every word.   Chris has really stood out to me on the Nothing Like This Tour.  His charming smile and boyish good looks melt the women in the audience and his fun, party demeanor make the guys wanna party hard.

My husband laughs at me because every time I come home from a Rascal Flatts show.  When asked if I had a good time my exact words are ususally, “That was the best show I have seen this summer!”  “Even better than the last one!”  He just shakes his head and grins.

When I tell you Rascal Flatts put on a high energy, fan interactive great show I am not kidding.  Last night seemed to be all about the kids.  Gary managed to pull 4 different kids up on stage from the audience to sing along.

The Nothing Like This Tour has been so amazing to me this summer.  Great music, tons of new friends and unforgettable memories.  Can’t wait for 2011!

An Older and Wiser Kellie Pickler is Happy, Engaged and Really Busy

Kellie Pickler is one busy girl these days.  She is currently opening for Rascal Flatts, doing a few headlining shows of her own and is in the beginning stages of planning her upcoming wedding to fiance Kyle Jacobs.

In a recent interview with the Tennessean it seems that Kellie is right where she wants to be and busy is the only way she will have it.

“I was so young when I signed my record deal. I was 19 and green and didn’t really know myself very well. I was more of a … follower than a leader, just kind of rolling with the flow and letting people dictate what I was going to do and what not,’’ she says.

“Now it’s like I’ve grown up a lot and seen the world and had new life experiences and been through a lot these past two years personally. I know who I am now.’’

Kelly admits that wedding plans are not really a stress for her right now. She is just trying to find the right wedding planner and knows everything else will fall into place. What is stressing Kellie out a bit is the upcoming release of her third album:

“I am a little bit stressed about the album, because you hear the third album makes or breaks you. I’m just hoping that the first two albums have just been practice. I feel like this third album is going to be my first album, because I really feel like I know me,’’ she says.

Kelly knows she’s a busy girl right now but doesn’t think her life should be any other way.

“Not a lot of downtime to really rehabilitate and rejuvenate but, I love what I do. I love country music. I love performing.”

Rascal Flatts ROCK Their Home State of Ohio

Rascal Flatts were back for another unbelievable show in Cincinnati, OH on Friday night.  There was something in the air that told us the energy was going to be high and the music was going to be great!

The weather was PERFECT for an outdoor venue show.  Unfortunately, I missed Chris Young’s opening set but hear he did a fantastic job.  Kellie Picker took the stage after Chris in a cute all black dress.  She looked great and was full of a lot more energy than the last time I had seen her.  Her set is full of her fans favorites and she even throws a little Dolly Parton in there for an extra sing along kick.

As always, Rascal Flatts hit the stage just a little after 9pm with a huge explosion.  As a long time Flatts fan I must say this has been my favorite set list yet!  We get to hear all of our favorites starting with Prayin’ for Daylight all the way through their current sinlge Why Wait.

We even got a glimpse of Gary’s mom sitting front in center jammin along to every word of every song.

Find out if the Nothing Like This Tour is coming to a city near you at www.rascalflatts.com.

September 1st is Country’s Night to Rock!!

“CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” airs Wednesday, September 1st (8:00-11:00 PM/ET) on ABC. Tim McGraw serves as host for the annual celebration of America’s music.

The special features performances by Jason Aldean, Billy Currington, Alan Jackson, Kid Rock, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Justin Moore, Brad Paisley, Kellie Pickler, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton with Trace Adkins, Josh Turner, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and Zac Brown Band filmed in front of a sold-out audience in June during CMA Music Festival in Nashville.

One highlight of the show is a special performance by reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year Taylor Swift, who premiered her new single “Mine” for her fans at a top-secret private event in Nashville during CMA Music Festival.

Viewers will also enjoy two collaborative performances filmed at Fuel Bar & Nightclub in Downtown Nashville in front of a jam-packed crowd of Festival attendees. First, Dierks Bentley and Jamey Johnson join Lambert to sing “Bad Angel.” Later, Uncle Kracker and Kid Rock perform “Good To Be Me.”

Offering an insider’s glimpse at the Festival, Lady Antebellum allowed cameras to follow them for a day at the event. Viewers will see the reigning CMA Vocal Group of the Year perform at their fan club party, interact with Festival attendees during an unplanned appearance in the Fan Fair Exhibit Hall, and more.

This year, CMA Music Festival served as the Grand Re-Opening of Nashville, after the city and surrounding areas experienced a devastating flood in May. The flood, the recovery efforts, and the coming together of the Nashville community to help its fellow citizens will be spotlighted in the television special. CMA is donating 50 percent of this year’s net proceeds from the Festival to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee for flood relief. As always, the other 50 percent of net proceeds will be donated to the Nashville Alliance for Public Education through CMA’s Keep the Music Playing program to purchase instruments and supplies for music education in Metro Nashville Public Schools.

The annual CMA Music Festival is unlike any other, with four days filled with more than one hundred hours of live music, 30 hours of autograph signings by Country Music’s biggest names and up and comers, hundreds of artists and celebrities, and a party list of thousands of avid fans. This is the sixth time ABC will broadcast this special – which invites the whole country to America’s biggest Country Music bash – since the original Fan Fair® was launched in 1972. This year an average of 65,000 fans from every state and 26 foreign countries attended each day of CMA Music Festival, its biggest turnout yet.

Kellie Pickler Plans on More USO Tours to Show Her Continued Support

Kellie Pickler is one busy girl. She just started her new tour, opening for Rascal Flatts. She’s newly engaged with tons of wedding plans to nail down. Now, she tells CMT.com, she’s planning her fourth USO tour.

Kellie says performing for the troops on a USO tour is “an incredible learning experience.” She says if she didn’t take advantage of that opportunity, she’d “miss out on a blessing, and so would” the troops. Kellie also doubts she’ll add another star-tattoo to the three small ones she already has on her arm. They’re for the three USO tours she’s already done. She says she’ll remember all the tours, even if she doesn’t keep adding stars. So far, Kellie has been on USO tours to the Middle East, Kosovo, Germany and England.

Rascal Flatts Show Fans There’s Nothing Like This

Rascal Flatts kicked off their brand new “Nothing Like This Tour” over the weekend and fans lined up early to take a walk back through time with Gary, Jay and Joe Don.  The tour promised to take fans back on a journey through their last 10 years of music with less talk and a lot more action.   This is exactly what was delivered in Charlotte, NC on Saturday night.

Chris Young kicked off the steamy night with a high energy set full of great music and incredible fan interaction.   I have only seen Chris sing live a few times in the past.  I was pleasantly surprised in his stage presence and am excited for fans to see him as opening act.   The set ended a little bit too early for me, I would have liked to see him play a few more songs.

Kellie Pickler took the stage just a few minutes after Chris and was sporting her beautiful new engagement ring.  Kellie’s set was full of songs we all know and love along with a few Dolly Parton extras that are always fun to sing along to.  This is the second time Kellie has been out on the road with the guys so Rascal Flatts fans already adore Kelllie.

Rascal Flatts shows are known to open with a huge explosion and burst of adrenaline.  Saturday night was no exception.  Within seconds of  the guys hitting the stage the crowd was on their feet screaming and singing along to every word.  The set list for this tour has been expanded and promises any Rascal Flatts fan their most popular hits from start to finish.

The Nothing Like This Tour takes fans on a  journey back in time to Prayin’ For Daylight (with the squat for all you Gary ladies) all the way up through Unstoppable and their brand new single Why Wait due out to radio very soon.   For those fans who are detailed enough to take a look around the stage you will see little pieces of history marked throughout the set.      The Charlotte venue is an outdoor amphitheatre so I am sure that when the shows move to the indoor arenas fans will be in for an even bigger visual treat with the stage.

The energy and excitment was blasted through the venue as Gary, Jay and Joe Don ran from one side of the stage to the other slapping the hands of fans who crowded around .   Gary also gave a few fans the chance to sing along as he passed the microphone down into the audience.  It was very obvious Rascal Flatts are glad to be back on the road to see their fans.  So get ready for a show that has expanded to almost 2 hours of music and promises to leave you wanting more!

Make sure to check out www.rascalflatts.com to see if they are coming to a city near you.
