Country Comes Home: Grand Ole Opry Announces Sept. 28 Re-Opening of Opry House

Grand Ole Opry officials today announced that the show, displaced from its permanent home due to May’s historic Nashville flood, will return to the Grand Ole Opry House with a star-packed show Tues., Sept. 28. Among the artists scheduled for the show are Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Charlie Daniels Band, Diamond Rio, Jimmy Dickens, Del McCoury Band, Montgomery Gentry, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Mel Tillis, and Josh Turner. The show will air live on GAC: Great American Country. Special events and artist appearances will follow throughout October in celebration of both the show’s return and its 85th Birthday.

The announcement came just before the Opry House’s signature element, a six-foot circle of oak wood taken from the historic Ryman Auditorium when the show moved to the Grand Ole Opry House in 1974, was returned this morning to its home center stage at the Opry House.  The circle, along with the full Opry stage, had been covered by 46 inches of water during May’s flood. Rescued immediately after waters receded from the Opry House, the circle has been painstakingly refurbished. The country music treasure was placed in its rightful spot with assistance from Dickens and Paisley. The two Opry members then took to the circle behind an Opry microphone stand for an acoustic performance of the country classic “Will the Circle be Unbroken.”

Brad Paisley Sells Out Gillette Stadium

This past Saturday Brad Paisley played his first stadium show as a headliner to a sold-out crowd of over 51,000 fans at Gillette Stadium in Boston, MA, home to the NFL’s New England Patriots. The 7th Annual New England Country Festival also included performances by Easton Corbin, Sara Evans, Darius Rucker and Jason Aldean.

After the show Paisley said, “Early on, my career dream was to get to what I call the level of a tour musician – to have a tour bus, the band and I all pile on and go play a show, get back on the bus and go to another city and play. And to think – now here we are playing Gillette Stadium – the same group of guys that use to pile on that one tour bus. It’s beyond my dreams.”

Is Brantley Gilbert Jason Aldean’s Favorite Songwriter?

Brantley Gilbert must be one of Jason Aldean’s favorite songwriters. When Jason announced the track listings for his new CD Monday, Brantley fans also got a special treat: The CD will include two of Brantley’s songs.

Jason’s first single and the CD’s title track, “My Kind of Party,” appears of Brantley’s CD “Halfway to Heaven.”

Brantley announced that Jason was releasing “My Kinda Party” earlier this month via his blog. “It’s an honor that someone like Jason would want to record one of my songs. I’m proud to see my name attached to Jason’s version and hope you guys feel the same.

“This is a big step for me as a songwriter and I couldn’t have asked for a better artist to perform the song. After all, he is a Georgia boy! I love how passionate you all are about this song and my music, I just want you to know that this is a good thing,” he assured his fans.

“Let’s show support as Jason runs ‘My Kinda Party’ up the charts! This is a great thing for all of us, including you. Thanks again for all your support! Can I get a hell yeah?!!!!” Brantley asks his fans.

Hell yeah!

Brantley’s “Dirt Road Anthem” (originally recorded by Brantley’s good friend Colt Ford) will also be on Jason’s new CD. Brantley’s “The Best of Me” was an iTunes exclusive track on Jason’s platinum “Wide Open” and appears on Brantley’s “Modernday Prodigal Son” CD.

While Brantley has yet to find success as a singer (despite having one of the best voices I’ve ever heard!), having Jason Aldean record three of his songs could help him get the attention he so deserves.

Jason’s new CD is due November 2 and will include 15 tracks, including a duet with Kelly Clarkson. “The album is named MY KINDA PARTY because it’s totally representative of what I like and what my fans have come to expect on my records and at the ‘party’ we throw at our shows,” Jason said. “I think the key is knowing who you are as an artist and taking it to an extreme without ripping anybody else off…it’s all about knowing what it is that sets you apart.”

Check out Brantley Gilbert on at www.brantleygilbert.com and www.Twitter.com/brantleygilbert. If you don’t know his music, you’re really missing a major talent!

The McClymonts Debut Album Out on August 17th

The McClymonts debut album titled Chaos and Bright Lights will be released in the U.S. on August 17th. The up and coming, award-winning, young country act from Australia will kick-off their first official U.S. concert dates beginning August 12th supporting chart-topping country artist Jason Aldean, award-winning country group Lady Antebellum, and the legendary Ozzy Osbourne.

The McClymonts – Brooke, Sam and Mollie – three sisters from Grafton, on the New South Wales north coast of Australia, have spent their young lives pursuing their musical dreams. From a very young age the girls spent every weekend traveling up and down the east coast of Australia doing the hard yards of the well-worn country music talent quests. Often musically compared to the Dixie Chicks and SHeDAISY, The McClymonts were finally able to unleash their musical alchemy and soaring vocal perfection when they were discovered and signed by Universal Music Australia. They toured Australia performing to full houses every night supporting multi-award winner and “Australian of the Year,” artist Lee Kernaghan, along with music festivals across the country.

Jason Aldean Says Touring Has Opened Up His World

Touring has opened up Jason Aldean’s life like nothing else. He says he’s “seen more of this country in the last four years” than he saw in almost his “first 30 years on Earth.” There is a downside, though. He’s experiencing all this away from his wife and two young daughters. But  Jason says still, he’s loves being a musician. He says, “there are very few people out there who can actually say they love their job.” And he says he’s one of them.

Jason is currently out on his Wide Open tour. Check out tour dates on his website at www.jasonaldean.com
