Jake Owen Rocks The Silly Band

Whoever invented the shaped rubber bands that kids wear on their wrist is not only responsible for the biggest fad in this decade, but is probably rolling in moola…I mean, charging upwards of $6 for a pack of rubber bands that represent the shape of something (only you can’t usually tell because they are being worn like bracelets) is practically all profit. Anyway, it doesn’t appear that kids are the only people sporting the rubber accessory.

Luke Bryan caught up with Jake Owen during CMA Fest, and Jake show’s-off his music-inspired silly band.

Go Behind the Scenes at CMA Music Festival

Fans can get a glimpse of all the behind the scenes action from the 2010 CMA Music Festival on ABC.com and CMAfest.com before the three-hour special “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” premieres on Wednesday, September 1st (8:00-11:00 PM/ET) on ABC.

Beginning today through September 1st, ABC.com will launch over 20 online videos featuring CMA Music Festival fan favorites Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Laura Bell Bundy, Eric Church, Gloriana, Julianne Hough, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Jake Owen, Kellie Pickler, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton, Josh Turner, and more! The online videos will be added to the Festival’s official website, www.CMAfest.com, on Friday, August 13th.

“We went to a lot of fan club parties with artists, and we spent a great deal of time filming on their buses or even at their houses to give that exclusive feeling and intimacy,” said David Beebe ABC Director of Video Production. “We talked with a wide range of artists from the names you would expect to see and a lot of up-and-coming acts as well.”

In the video series, Bentley takes viewers into his late night fan club party; Aldean gives an exclusive look at his “huddle” with the band to get pumped up before performing at LP Field; Gloriana shows off their “bus mascot” given to them by Taylor Swift; and noted practical joker Shelton makes a special “request” of Pickler to watch his dogs and his mother while he heads out to perform. In a special video where “stars give back” to the fans, viewers get to witness Laura Bell Bundy cleaning up after fans and Gloriana on janitorial duty at the Festival!

The annual CMA Music Festival is unlike any other, with four days filled with more than one hundred hours of live music, 30 hours of autograph signings by Country Music’s biggest names and up and comers, hundreds of artists and celebrities, and a party list of thousands of avid fans.

Jake Owen is ‘Goin Country’ with Kristy Lee Cook

Goin’ Country with Kristy Lee Cook mixes the best of the outdoors with the struggles of making it big on the country music scene. Beginning on Sunday, August 1st, at 9 a.m. ET, host Kristy Lee Cook takes viewers on amazing hunts throughout the U.S. as she works to secure a record deal in the ultra competitive music business.

The eight-episode series, which will air each Sunday at 9 a.m. ET through September 19th, will feature special guests such as American Idol finalist Blake Lewis, Grammy-Award nominated artist Jake Owen and country music star Aaron Tippin. Goin’ Country will visit locations in Wisconsin and Illinois for Cook’s first black buck hunt, Kansas and Wyoming for an exciting pheasant hunt, Texas for the majestic whitetail deer and Missouri and Tennessee for a difficult turkey hunt. The show will also highlight Cook’s work with the ‘Kristy Lee Horse Heaven Foundation’, a charity for rescuing horses.

Kristy Lee tasted fame as an American Idol finalist in 2008 and in September of that year released her album Why Wait which produced the single “15 Minutes of Shame”, a top 30 hit on Billboard’s country charts.

Jake Owen Get’s More Ink

Country singers Tyler Reeve and Jake Owen got into a little mischief this week. According to Tyler’s Facebook page, Jake got some new ink, and Tyler posted the pictures to share it. “Jake Owen getting his new tattoo… On a whim- after a few beers – on our way to dibber,” Tyler wrote. (Not sure, but we think dibber is probably dinner?”)

Neither Tyler or Jake posted a picture of the finished tattoo, but the caption on the last picture calls it “The Tennessee stars.” We can’t wait to see the finished art!

Jake has at least two other tattoos (that we know of!): The name “Pearl” on his left wrist and a Waylon Jennings-inspired “W” on his right forearm.

These pictures are under Wall Photos on Tyler’s Facebook page, where a Jake fan spotted them and posted them in the Forum on Jake’s Fan Club site.

Want a Sneak Peek at the Next Jake Owen Single?

Jake Owen told the crowd at his concert Saturday night in South Carolina that he’s decided on the next single: “Trip to Heaven.” And even better news, he said it will be released in the fall (hopefully with a new CD following soon!).

The tune was recorded in June with Sarah Buxton helping out on vocals.

The above video is from Jake’s Fan Club Party June 11 in Nashville, and Jake’s Fan Tweet www.Twitter.com/JakeOwenFans shared the single news and this video link yesterday morning.

“Trip to Heaven” was the only new song Jake shared at the Fan Club Party. He did several new song (and old songs that haven’t been on a CD yet) for the standing-room-only crowd at 12th and Porter, and fans got some great video. I can’t wait to see which ones make it on the next CD!

  •  I Ain’t the One Who Said Goodbye
  • Nobody Feelin’ No Pain
  • Love Ya Love Ya Love Ya
  • Keeping It Country

There is also an official Jake Owen Fan Club Video (but the fan ones more fun!).
