Brad Paisley Sells Out Gillette Stadium

This past Saturday Brad Paisley played his first stadium show as a headliner to a sold-out crowd of over 51,000 fans at Gillette Stadium in Boston, MA, home to the NFL’s New England Patriots. The 7th Annual New England Country Festival also included performances by Easton Corbin, Sara Evans, Darius Rucker and Jason Aldean.

After the show Paisley said, “Early on, my career dream was to get to what I call the level of a tour musician – to have a tour bus, the band and I all pile on and go play a show, get back on the bus and go to another city and play. And to think – now here we are playing Gillette Stadium – the same group of guys that use to pile on that one tour bus. It’s beyond my dreams.”

Fans can get a glimpse of all the behind the scenes action from the 2010 CMA Music Festival on ABC.com and CMAfest.com before the three-hour special “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” premieres on Wednesday, September 1st (8:00-11:00 PM/ET) on ABC.

The online videos will be added to the Festival’s official website, www.CMAfest.com, on Friday, August 13th.

“We went to a lot of fan club parties with artists, and we spent a great deal of time filming on their buses or even at their houses to give that exclusive feeling and intimacy,” said David Beebe ABC Director of Video Production. “We talked with a wide range of artists from the names you would expect to see and a lot of up-and-coming acts as well.”

In the video series, Bentley takes viewers into his late night fan club party; Aldean gives an exclusive look at his “huddle” with the band to get pumped up before performing at LP Field; Gloriana shows off their “bus mascot” given to them by Taylor Swift; and noted practical joker Shelton makes a special “request” of Pickler to watch his dogs and his mother while he heads out to perform. In a special video where “stars give back” to the fans, viewers get to witness Laura Bell Bundy cleaning up after fans and Gloriana on janitorial duty at the Festival!

September 1st is Country’s Night to Rock!!

“CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” airs Wednesday, September 1st (8:00-11:00 PM/ET) on ABC. Tim McGraw serves as host for the annual celebration of America’s music.

The special features performances by Jason Aldean, Billy Currington, Alan Jackson, Kid Rock, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Justin Moore, Brad Paisley, Kellie Pickler, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton with Trace Adkins, Josh Turner, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and Zac Brown Band filmed in front of a sold-out audience in June during CMA Music Festival in Nashville.

One highlight of the show is a special performance by reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year Taylor Swift, who premiered her new single “Mine” for her fans at a top-secret private event in Nashville during CMA Music Festival.

Viewers will also enjoy two collaborative performances filmed at Fuel Bar & Nightclub in Downtown Nashville in front of a jam-packed crowd of Festival attendees. First, Dierks Bentley and Jamey Johnson join Lambert to sing “Bad Angel.” Later, Uncle Kracker and Kid Rock perform “Good To Be Me.”

Offering an insider’s glimpse at the Festival, Lady Antebellum allowed cameras to follow them for a day at the event. Viewers will see the reigning CMA Vocal Group of the Year perform at their fan club party, interact with Festival attendees during an unplanned appearance in the Fan Fair Exhibit Hall, and more.

This year, CMA Music Festival served as the Grand Re-Opening of Nashville, after the city and surrounding areas experienced a devastating flood in May. The flood, the recovery efforts, and the coming together of the Nashville community to help its fellow citizens will be spotlighted in the television special. CMA is donating 50 percent of this year’s net proceeds from the Festival to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee for flood relief. As always, the other 50 percent of net proceeds will be donated to the Nashville Alliance for Public Education through CMA’s Keep the Music Playing program to purchase instruments and supplies for music education in Metro Nashville Public Schools.

The annual CMA Music Festival is unlike any other, with four days filled with more than one hundred hours of live music, 30 hours of autograph signings by Country Music’s biggest names and up and comers, hundreds of artists and celebrities, and a party list of thousands of avid fans. This is the sixth time ABC will broadcast this special – which invites the whole country to America’s biggest Country Music bash – since the original Fan Fair® was launched in 1972. This year an average of 65,000 fans from every state and 26 foreign countries attended each day of CMA Music Festival, its biggest turnout yet.

CMA Fest Day 4

Even though the last day of CMA Fest topped out at 109 degrees, CMA Fest was still in full swing. We spent our day at the Taylor Swift meet n’greet, Riverfront Park, and LP Field. The 4 day party was coming to and end.

At Riverfront Park, we saw Jo Dee Messina and Uncle Kracker. It was obvious that the heat was starting to get to people…especially the artists. But, Jo Dee took it in stride and sang songs old and new. She has a great way with the crowd, and got them involved with a sing-a-long contest with “I’m Alright.” She gave away 1,000 copies of her latest album to fans, and handed out even more after her set.

Uncle Kracker has dipped his toes in country music on and off with Kenny Chesney and his latest song “Smile.” However, there was no smiling yesterday at Riverfront. He literally looked as if he was going to pass-out from the heat. He sang “Smile,” “Drift Away,” and “Follow Me.”

LP Field was holding nothing back on it’s last night. Justin Moore, Kellie Pickler, Blake Shelton, Trace Adkins, Darius Rucker, and Brad Paisley were on the line-up for the final night. Kellie Pickler rocked the big-stage in a red mini dress and some high sparkly heels.

My favorite of the night by far was Blake Shelton. Blake, looking hot in more ways than one, performed a great set of “Ol’ Red,” “She Wouldn’t Be gone,” and “Kiss My Country Ass.” For a special treat, Miranda Lambert joined Blake on stage for a stunning version of “Home.” Stealing sweet glances up at each other the entire time, Blake and Miranda sounded amazing. The obvious highlight of his set was “Hillbilly Bone.” Trace Adkins came out to sing the rowdy party anthem, and LP Field LOVED it!

Trace was next on the list. He really kept the crowd up and moving with “Swing,” Hot Mama,” “Ladies Love Country Boys,” and “You’re Gonna Miss This.” I thought LP Field was gonna blow when he started singing “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk.” Next up, Darius Rucker proved his country side when he sang “Alright,” “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It,” and a phenomenal version of “Purple Rain.”

Always a crowd favorite, Brad Paisley shook the stadium the last night of LP Field. He sang his hits “Welcome to the Future,” “Water,” and “American Saturday Night.” Brad was joined on stage by Chuck Wicks, Justin Moore, and Darius Rucker for a rowdy version of “Alcohol.”

We want to personally thank Chevy for sponsoring our trip with great tickets, and we’ll be giving away some great Chevy merchandise really soon! We also want to thank CMA for putting on such a great event, helping fans get close to the artists they love. We also want to thank EVERYONE who attended CMA Fest this year. Nashville needed the world to know that we are indeed OPEN FOR BUSINESS!!! See y’all next year!
