TV Has a New Country Award Show and It’s Fan Voted

“Country is one of the most vibrant areas of music in America.” That’s what Fox executive Peter Rice thinks. So, he says Fox is creating a new country music awards show called the American Country Awards.

The very first show will be Monday, December 6 in Las Vegas. It will be broadcast the 2 hour show live on Fox. The ACA will follow the lead of the CMT Awards with fans voting for the winners!

Luke Bryan Celebrates Great Year with Fans

Yesterday was Luke Bryan’s annual Nuthouse Fanclub Party at 12th and Porter in Nashville.  The tiny room was packed-full of Luke Bryan die-hards.  For two hours fans sang along, danced to, and gawked at our favorite Country Man.

Luke’s set was void of any setlist or plan…The request-only show was laid-back and a great way for Luke to let loose after his winning night at the CMT Awards.  Luke sang favorits, old and new, like; “Do I,” “All My Friends Say,” “We Road in Trucks,” “You Make Me Want To,” and “I’ll Stay Me.”  But the king of covers also threw in some of those as well with “Fishin in the Dark” and “Stuck on You.”

Each and every fan got to meet Luke at the party’s end.  As always, Luke was kind, sincere, and genuinely happy to share this small toke of appreciation with them.  After all, 2010 has been quite a year.

Blake Shelton’s 2nd Six Pack to be Released on August 10th

Last night’s CMT Awards was full of big news for Blake Shelton who announced that his second SIX PAK album would hit stores August 10th. The new release features Shelton’s fastest rising single-to-date, “All About Tonight.” Shelton also took home the CMT award for Collaborative Video of the Year, for the No. 1 single, “Hillbilly Bone,” with Trace Adkins.

Shelton thanked his fans for voting for “Hillbilly Bone” and when accepting the award with his longtime friend Trace Adkins at last night’s award show he said, “Thanks to Trace Adkins for being the biggest bad-ass in country music.”

Shelton’s first SIX PACK album, “Hillbilly Bone”, was released earlier this year and debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart and

We’re LIVE backstage at the CMT Music Awards!  Country Girl is in the audience with camera in-hand watching the show, and I’m backstage keepin you up-t0-date on the latest winners, losers, and hopefully getting to talk to some of your favorite artists backstage.

  • Kid Rock Kicking-off the show…Rock n’Roll Style with “Cowboy” joined by Randy Houser and Trace Adkins
  • wahoo! Jamey Johnson taking me back to the Duke’s of Hazard Days…”Good Ole Boys…” Just gave a shot of Brad Paisley…did NOT look impressed with Kid Rock’s Performance.
  • Doh…that’s Hank Williams Jr….what an opening number!!!
  • Faith Hill and Taylor Swift first-up to present.  Taylor is rockin some straight hair.  For Group Video of the Year….And the award goes to…..Lady Antebellum!!!!  Simmer down country girl…I know you’re…um…peeved.

Country music is gearing up for a BIG party tonight!  The 2010 CMT Music Awards are rolling out the blue carpet and bringing you all of your favorite country music artists and handing out the belt buckles to the artists who the fans love best!  As the only awards show that is 100% fan voted tonight is for YOU!

Rehearsals have been underway all week at the Bridgestone arena here in Nashville and everyone is finally ready!
