Clay Walker and BAMS Donate $50,000 for Pediatric MS Research

Clay Walker and his charity organization, Band Against MS (BAMS), made a $50,000 donation to Dr. Lauren Krupp during the Third Annual Clay Walker Charity Classic’s Gala event at the world-renown Pebble Beach Resorts. BAMS’ donation will help support Krupp’s research on childhood multiple sclerosis (MS) at Stony Brook University Medical Center in Stony Brook, N.Y. With this donation, BAMS has contributed more than $150,000 to Krupp and the National Pediatric MS Center.

The tournament’s Gala event raised more than $100,000 from live and silent auctions which will be used to fund education for those living with MS, research and to further support the mission and goals of BAMS. To date, BAMS has raised more than $2 million to fight MS.

The Nashville Floods – Boat Resuces and Buffalo Loose in Music City

It’s safe to say that Nashville has never seen this much rain. There are so many roads, highways and bridges closed. Many have lost their homes and many prayers are needed for Music City.

You saw earlier that Dierks Bentley had to cancel shows because of the flood. He has been scooping water out of his house since early this morning.

Naomi Judd had to call a television station earlier today to warn neighbors that six buffalo escaped her farm in Leiper’s Fork.   I also heard some of Clay Walker’s horses also escaped today.

Country singer Julie Roberts had to be rescued by boat from her home earlier today and John Rich sent out tweets earlier today that his Granny also had to be rescued by boat.

Music City and all neightboring cities are in an emergency state. Please keep the city and its residents in your thoughts and prayers this week.

Clay Walkers Chords of Hope 2010

Country Girl and I attended the Clay Walker Chords of Hope Benefit concert at the Wildhorse Saloon on Tuesday night.  It was a great time featuring some great music.  It was also our first time seeing some of the acts that performed.  We were treated by acoustic and full band sets from Lee Brice, Chuck Wicks, SheDaisy, Chris Cagle, and Clay Walker.

Lee Brice, famed songwriter of Garth Brooks’ “More than a Memory,” treated us to several songs during his acoustic set.  Lee sounded amazing!  He’s a terrific performer and has a massive voice.  Not only did he treat us to his Garth hit, but he also performed his brand new single “Love Like Crazy”.

Up next was one of my favorites, Chuck Wicks.  Seriously ladies, this guy is dangerous.  He performed a flawless, fun, not to mention sexy acoustic set of songs old and new.  Chuck got everyone’s motor running when he performed “She Gets to Me” and “Hold that Thought.”  I nearly thought I was going to have to excuse myself, but I was saved when he sang “Stealing Cinderella.”  Being a mom of two girls ages 5 and 3, I can’t seem to make it through that song without mascara rivers running down my cheeks.  So, I apologize to anyone who had to look at me after that.

This was my first time seeing the next three acts live.  SheDaisy was next up.  I have to say, they sounded pretty good.  It was hard for me to get into their set for some reason.  But I can only assume it was my unfamiliarity with them.

Chris Cagle is grasping his second chance at making music with both hands.  Not only did her perform some old hits like “Chicks Dig It”  but he also performed some new music that was FANTASTIC!!!

I have to say, Clay Walker surprised me the most.  I hadn’t seen him live, so I was very impressed.  I knew a lot of his music and of his battle with MS, but I wasn’t aware of his moves.  Clay Walker packs some serious heat in the booty-shakin department.  He sounded amazing and really amped-up the crowd.

Over all, the night was fantastic.  See all of our pictures here.

Lee Brice Opens Sold-Out Show for Clay Walker

Lee Brice & gang

Lee Brice had his first of many opening dates with Clay Walker last week in California, and it was quite a show indeed.

Wow! I can’t even begin to describe what an amazing show we had last night,” remarks Lee. “The energy was incredible. Clay’s fans just blew me away. We rocked out and had a great time!”

And it appeared the crowd loved Lee just as much as Lee loved them.

“Great show last night, packed house at the Rodeo Club and the crowd reaction to Love Like Crazy was over the top, at the end of the 45 minutes, the San Jose crowd loved Lee like Crazy!” says KRTY General Manager Nate Deaton.
