CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to ROCK! Who Rocked your Night??

Okay, so last night was CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock!!!  What did y’all think??  Who ROCKED your night???  Maybe it was Miranda Lambert??  Or maybe Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Zac Brown Band, or Keith Urban nabbed the favorite spot in your heart…We want to know what you thought of the 3 hour special last night on ABC!  Leave us your comments!

My personal favorite was Keith Urban (obviously)…I mean, what a way to kick-off the show.  I also enjoyed the behind-the-scenes footage of Taylor Swift’s 13 (actually 14.5) hour meet n’ greet.  Say what you will about the girl, NO ONE can top her fan interaction and appreciation.  I actually get teary watching her with her fans. I also wish Martina McBride would’ve gotten  more air time.  The lady had a sold-out stadium in awed-silence then brought them to their feet in an amazing standing ovation…

Who were your favorites? Least favorites?  Who left you wanting more???  Did you make you excited to make the trip to Nashville next summer??  If you just have to be in the midst of all the action next year; it’s never to early to get your tickets!  Click here to get your tickets to the 2011 CMA Music Festival!  You really don’t wanna miss it!

Photo of the Day: Tiger Woods Doll & a Caption by Brad Paisley

So, Brad Paisley took to Twitter today to share a photo…It’s not so much the picture that caught my attention; it was the caption.

Also,if you buy now, it comes with sleepover Barbie, cocktail waitress Barbie, and sleazy skank Barbie as well.

Seriously…Brad…You are FUNNY!  I’ll never look at a Tiger Woods action figure the same…not that I’ve ever spent much time looking at one.

Brad Paisley’s Wedding Gift to Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood jokes that three Christmases from now, she will regift the large bowl that Brad Paisley and his wife gave as a wedding gift back to them. Brad says he can’t wait.

Brad says he and his wife Kim couldn’t make it to Carrie and Mike’s wedding on July 10. But, they did send that bowl as a gift and they already got their thank-you note. Together yesterday for the announcement that they’re hosting the CMA Awards again, Brad asked Carrie if she really wanted that bowl. She said yes and explained it’s not like a cereal bowl. It’s for display. And, she told him she hasn’t regifted it. Not yet, at least.

The CMA Awards will be held in Nashville on November 10th.

VIDEO- Brad Paisley & Little Jimmy Dickens Return the Circle to the Opry Stage

Take a look at this fabulous video of Brad Paisley & Little Jimmy Dickens returning the historic circle to the Grand Ole Opry stage on August 25th. The circle was rescued and refurbished after the May flood left the Opry stage under four feet of water. The Opry House will reopen on September 28th with an all-star lineup. Carrie Underwood & Brad Paisley Will Host CMA Awards…Again

The CMA Awards will be held in Nashville on November 10th. During a Nashville press conference today, it was announced that for the third year in a row, Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will host the night’s festivities. I have to admit, they were pretty decent so I’m not bummed….Although, I would love to see Blake Shelton bring the show to a whole new level…We may not be quite ready for that yet.

Little Jimmy Dickens, Brad Paisley & The Grand Ole Opry Circle – Photos of the Day

“It is as it should be,” said Brad Paisley. “That circle means the world to all of us who love country music. I’ve always said that the circle still contains the dust from Hank Williams’ cowboy boots. Well now it contains that dust, but also the heart and soul of this town and all the people who have worked to rise above this spring’s floods. I know I speak for all my fellow Opry members when I say, ‘we are so excited to come home!’”

Country Comes Home: Grand Ole Opry Announces Sept. 28 Re-Opening of Opry House

Grand Ole Opry officials today announced that the show, displaced from its permanent home due to May’s historic Nashville flood, will return to the Grand Ole Opry House with a star-packed show Tues., Sept. 28. Among the artists scheduled for the show are Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Charlie Daniels Band, Diamond Rio, Jimmy Dickens, Del McCoury Band, Montgomery Gentry, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Mel Tillis, and Josh Turner. The show will air live on GAC: Great American Country. Special events and artist appearances will follow throughout October in celebration of both the show’s return and its 85th Birthday.

The announcement came just before the Opry House’s signature element, a six-foot circle of oak wood taken from the historic Ryman Auditorium when the show moved to the Grand Ole Opry House in 1974, was returned this morning to its home center stage at the Opry House.  The circle, along with the full Opry stage, had been covered by 46 inches of water during May’s flood. Rescued immediately after waters receded from the Opry House, the circle has been painstakingly refurbished. The country music treasure was placed in its rightful spot with assistance from Dickens and Paisley. The two Opry members then took to the circle behind an Opry microphone stand for an acoustic performance of the country classic “Will the Circle be Unbroken.”

Brad Paisley Sells Out Gillette Stadium

This past Saturday Brad Paisley played his first stadium show as a headliner to a sold-out crowd of over 51,000 fans at Gillette Stadium in Boston, MA, home to the NFL’s New England Patriots. The 7th Annual New England Country Festival also included performances by Easton Corbin, Sara Evans, Darius Rucker and Jason Aldean.

After the show Paisley said, “Early on, my career dream was to get to what I call the level of a tour musician – to have a tour bus, the band and I all pile on and go play a show, get back on the bus and go to another city and play. And to think – now here we are playing Gillette Stadium – the same group of guys that use to pile on that one tour bus. It’s beyond my dreams.”

Photo(s) of the Day: Brad Paisly & Justin Moore

Thanks to Rachel from WFUS in Tampa who sent us these photo’s from this past weekends H2O Tour with Brad Paisley. Looks like fans got a whole lot more than they bargained for…especially from Justin Moore who apparently likes a little ‘shwing’ action in his performances.

September 1st is Country’s Night to Rock!!

“CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” airs Wednesday, September 1st (8:00-11:00 PM/ET) on ABC. Tim McGraw serves as host for the annual celebration of America’s music.

The special features performances by Jason Aldean, Billy Currington, Alan Jackson, Kid Rock, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Justin Moore, Brad Paisley, Kellie Pickler, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton with Trace Adkins, Josh Turner, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and Zac Brown Band filmed in front of a sold-out audience in June during CMA Music Festival in Nashville.

One highlight of the show is a special performance by reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year Taylor Swift, who premiered her new single “Mine” for her fans at a top-secret private event in Nashville during CMA Music Festival.

Viewers will also enjoy two collaborative performances filmed at Fuel Bar & Nightclub in Downtown Nashville in front of a jam-packed crowd of Festival attendees. First, Dierks Bentley and Jamey Johnson join Lambert to sing “Bad Angel.” Later, Uncle Kracker and Kid Rock perform “Good To Be Me.”

Offering an insider’s glimpse at the Festival, Lady Antebellum allowed cameras to follow them for a day at the event. Viewers will see the reigning CMA Vocal Group of the Year perform at their fan club party, interact with Festival attendees during an unplanned appearance in the Fan Fair Exhibit Hall, and more.

This year, CMA Music Festival served as the Grand Re-Opening of Nashville, after the city and surrounding areas experienced a devastating flood in May. The flood, the recovery efforts, and the coming together of the Nashville community to help its fellow citizens will be spotlighted in the television special. CMA is donating 50 percent of this year’s net proceeds from the Festival to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee for flood relief. As always, the other 50 percent of net proceeds will be donated to the Nashville Alliance for Public Education through CMA’s Keep the Music Playing program to purchase instruments and supplies for music education in Metro Nashville Public Schools.

The annual CMA Music Festival is unlike any other, with four days filled with more than one hundred hours of live music, 30 hours of autograph signings by Country Music’s biggest names and up and comers, hundreds of artists and celebrities, and a party list of thousands of avid fans. This is the sixth time ABC will broadcast this special – which invites the whole country to America’s biggest Country Music bash – since the original Fan Fair® was launched in 1972. This year an average of 65,000 fans from every state and 26 foreign countries attended each day of CMA Music Festival, its biggest turnout yet.
