Lady Antebellum’s “Jeans Are Mighty Tight”

Lady Antebellum is back with yet another spoof of one of their favorite songs…Blake Shelton’s “All About Tonight.” The brilliant lyrics have been changed to fit the title, “His Jeans Are Mighty Tight.” I have to say, Charles and Dave are getting pretty darn good at this…

GAC to Air ‘Blake Shelton Live: It’s All About Tonight’

It’s appropriate that country star Blake Shelton’s first television concert special takes place in an indoor stadium on the largest stage he’s ever worked.

“When I was a teenager in Oklahoma, Garth Brooks had his first television special and everybody I knew taped it. It was the biggest thing ever,” Shelton recalls. “I probably watched it 100 times; there was this huge stage and I remember thinking, ‘That’s what you do and that’s what I want to do one day.’”

Shot at Roberts Stadium in Evansville, Indiana, Blake Shelton Live: It’s All About Tonight premieres Wednesday, September 8th, 9:00 p.m/Eastern on Great American Country (GAC). The 90 minute special will follow Blake through his massive series of hit songs.

While the Garth epiphany happened during his high school years, Shelton knew at an early age what he was meant to do.

“From the time I was 7 years old I’d decided that I wanted to sing,” he recalls. “Waylon and Hank, Jr., were almost like action heroes; they were just cool because they were singing and they sounded cool and they had guitars in their hands.”

“Music means everything to me,” Shelton explains. “It’s as vital to me as water and air and food. And beyond that, country music is that important to me.”

Get those DVRs set, because this is a not-to-be missed performance for sure.

Blake Shelton is #1 for Third Week in a Row!

Blake Shelton holds onto the top spot on the Billboard and Mediabase charts for the third week in a row with his single, “All About Tonight.” Blake is the only solo male country artist – one of three artists overall – to log more than one chart-topper so far this year on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs and has not had a single peak outside the Top Ten since 2007.

Congrats Blake!

Country Comes Home: Grand Ole Opry Announces Sept. 28 Re-Opening of Opry House

Grand Ole Opry officials today announced that the show, displaced from its permanent home due to May’s historic Nashville flood, will return to the Grand Ole Opry House with a star-packed show Tues., Sept. 28. Among the artists scheduled for the show are Trace Adkins, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Charlie Daniels Band, Diamond Rio, Jimmy Dickens, Del McCoury Band, Montgomery Gentry, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, Mel Tillis, and Josh Turner. The show will air live on GAC: Great American Country. Special events and artist appearances will follow throughout October in celebration of both the show’s return and its 85th Birthday.

The announcement came just before the Opry House’s signature element, a six-foot circle of oak wood taken from the historic Ryman Auditorium when the show moved to the Grand Ole Opry House in 1974, was returned this morning to its home center stage at the Opry House.  The circle, along with the full Opry stage, had been covered by 46 inches of water during May’s flood. Rescued immediately after waters receded from the Opry House, the circle has been painstakingly refurbished. The country music treasure was placed in its rightful spot with assistance from Dickens and Paisley. The two Opry members then took to the circle behind an Opry microphone stand for an acoustic performance of the country classic “Will the Circle be Unbroken.”

It’s country week on the Today Show. Yesterday, Martina McBride filled-in for co-host Kathy Lee. Take a look at a clip of Martina talking about keeping her family first.

It’s been a very exciting week, and I never realized how much booze flows freely on the morning news. If you’ve watched, you know what I mean…Blake Shelton and Martina both had their fair share of extra curricular beverages while sitting in as co-host.

Today, John Rich takes over. Tomorrow is Trisha Yearwood, and Josh Turner closes out the week.

This past weekend, Blake Shelton performed in Kettering, Ohio. Sure sounds like Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert’s wedding will be the place to be. Blake recently joked that the star power from Miranda’s bridesmaids will be overwhelming.

He says “Shania Twain will be standing next to her, Carrie Underwood, Lady Gaga and Lindsay Lohan.”  Blake says it’s Lohan he’s “most excited about.” Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert will be getting married in the spring. They haven’t announced an exact date yet.
