The online videos will be added to the Festival’s official website, www.CMAfest.com, on Friday, August 13th.

“We went to a lot of fan club parties with artists, and we spent a great deal of time filming on their buses or even at their houses to give that exclusive feeling and intimacy,” said David Beebe ABC Director of Video Production. “We talked with a wide range of artists from the names you would expect to see and a lot of up-and-coming acts as well.”

In the video series, Bentley takes viewers into his late night fan club party; Aldean gives an exclusive look at his “huddle” with the band to get pumped up before performing at LP Field; Gloriana shows off their “bus mascot” given to them by Taylor Swift; and noted practical joker Shelton makes a special “request” of Pickler to watch his dogs and his mother while he heads out to perform. In a special video where “stars give back” to the fans, viewers get to witness Laura Bell Bundy cleaning up after fans and Gloriana on janitorial duty at the Festival!

September 1st is Country’s Night to Rock!!

“CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” airs Wednesday, September 1st (8:00-11:00 PM/ET) on ABC. Tim McGraw serves as host for the annual celebration of America’s music.

The special features performances by Jason Aldean, Billy Currington, Alan Jackson, Kid Rock, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Justin Moore, Brad Paisley, Kellie Pickler, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, Blake Shelton with Trace Adkins, Josh Turner, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and Zac Brown Band filmed in front of a sold-out audience in June during CMA Music Festival in Nashville.

One highlight of the show is a special performance by reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year Taylor Swift, who premiered her new single “Mine” for her fans at a top-secret private event in Nashville during CMA Music Festival.

Viewers will also enjoy two collaborative performances filmed at Fuel Bar & Nightclub in Downtown Nashville in front of a jam-packed crowd of Festival attendees. First, Dierks Bentley and Jamey Johnson join Lambert to sing “Bad Angel.” Later, Uncle Kracker and Kid Rock perform “Good To Be Me.”

Offering an insider’s glimpse at the Festival, Lady Antebellum allowed cameras to follow them for a day at the event. Viewers will see the reigning CMA Vocal Group of the Year perform at their fan club party, interact with Festival attendees during an unplanned appearance in the Fan Fair Exhibit Hall, and more.

This year, CMA Music Festival served as the Grand Re-Opening of Nashville, after the city and surrounding areas experienced a devastating flood in May. The flood, the recovery efforts, and the coming together of the Nashville community to help its fellow citizens will be spotlighted in the television special. CMA is donating 50 percent of this year’s net proceeds from the Festival to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee for flood relief. As always, the other 50 percent of net proceeds will be donated to the Nashville Alliance for Public Education through CMA’s Keep the Music Playing program to purchase instruments and supplies for music education in Metro Nashville Public Schools.

The annual CMA Music Festival is unlike any other, with four days filled with more than one hundred hours of live music, 30 hours of autograph signings by Country Music’s biggest names and up and comers, hundreds of artists and celebrities, and a party list of thousands of avid fans. This is the sixth time ABC will broadcast this special – which invites the whole country to America’s biggest Country Music bash – since the original Fan Fair® was launched in 1972. This year an average of 65,000 fans from every state and 26 foreign countries attended each day of CMA Music Festival, its biggest turnout yet.

This past weekend, Kenny Chesney, Luke Bryan, & Billy Currington played at Country Thunder in Wisconsin. Kenny invited the guys out during his set to sing “The Joker” with him. Unfortunately, Luke wasn’t paying real close attention and messed-up a little….oh, and someone caught it on video.

CMA Fest Day 3

Thanks to Chevy for sponsoring our trip to CMA Fest, CMTT is able to bring you all the scoop from the 2010 CMA Music Festival.  Saturday was day 3 of Nashville’s Biggest Party, and we decided to head on down to Fan Fair Hall.  Saturday was a big day in the Hall.  Rascal Flatts was signing for the first time in years along with a special short acoustic set.  Then we headed over to meet Mindy McCready.  She looked FANTASTIC!  I’m hoping she is indeed getting her act together, because I’d like to see her make a comback.

Saturday night at LP Field was also a doosey.  Easton Corbin made his LP Field debut, and what a fine job he did.  It was obvious that he was absolutely thrilled to be there, and the crowd appeared to love him!  Randy Houser also got everyone up on their feet with “Boots On” and “Anything Goes”…oh, and let’s not forget that contagious laugh. Billy Currington also performed, getting people pumped with his massive hit “People Are Crazy,” along with “Good at Drinking Beer,” “Don’t,” and “Must Be Doing Something Right.”

Last year, Zac Brown Band was a crowd favorite…keeping the stadium on their feet and excited the entire set.  However, this year…although they were good; Zac Brown Band failed to deliver quite the same reaction.  They opened strong with “Toes” but then failed to ever play “Chicken Fried” or their amazing cover of “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.”  Instead they opted for “Free” which is a beautiful song, but mixed with the other unknown song, failed to give-us the energy boost we needed to keep up in the heat.

My favorite of the night…and maybe possibly the weekend was Martina McBride. I seem to always forget how amazing she is.  Martina kicked-off the night with “Wrong Baby Wrong” then sang “This One’s for the Girls,” “Anyway,” “Broken Wing,” and “Independence Day.”  She got a MASSIVE standing ovation for “Broken Wing.” She never fails to produce chill bumps.

Rascal Flatts was the big deal of the evening.  Even though their set was interrupted with fireworks, the guys kept truckin on singing several  hits like “Life is a Highway,” “Here Comes Goodbye,” “Bob that Head,” and more.

Day 3 was a scorcher!  Litterally over 100 degrees, but fans still came out in droves to hear some great music and celebrate Nashville’s return!

Billy Currington & Kip Moore-A Fan Review

Lisa was lucky enough to catch Billy Currington and Kip Moore this past weekend…it sounds like she had a great time!

With a severe thunderstorm watch in effect and darkening skies I headed to Celebrate VA Live in Fredericksburg, VA on Friday night to see Billy Currington with special guest Kip Moore. Kip Moore is a fairly new artist that moved to Nashville four years ago to pursue his music career.

Kip took to the stage at 6:30 and started the show off with Girls Dance before proclaiming his love for the State of Virginia and his stay in Oilville the night before. He sang She’s Mine followed by In Those College Years and Nothing Left to Lose.

He has recently signed with Universal and will have his first single out later this summer.

He sang Motorcycle, which is a fabulous, upbeat song about going for a ride on his motorcycle, followed by Mary Was the Marrying Kind which tells that story of his recent encounter with a quite girl from high school that no one paid much attention to and didn’t think of as the marrying kind but years later realized their error in thought.

His final song was one that he wrote the day after he signed his record deal called Faith When I Fall. Kip is definitely an up and coming artist that I can’t wait to hear more from. He had decent audience interaction and his songs were relatable.

Billy Currington appeared at 8:00 PM and started the show off rockin with That’s How Country Boys Roll, which was a definite crowd pleaser.

He performed all of his biggest hits to include Must Be Doin Something Right, People Are Crazy and Good Directions. He threw in a couple of covers from other artist to include Lucille, which he explained he never realized that Johnny Cash had released this song prior to Kenny Rogers recording it. He also did Superstitious, Everything, Swimmin in Sunshine and Enjoy Yourself.

Throughout his performance the clouds continued to build and we all witnessed a magnificent light show of lighting far off in the distance from every direction but luckily the storms held off until after the show was over.
