Jake Owen’s Twitter Party in Nashville

Jake Owen took to his Twitter page again yesterday and this time it was for his peeps in Nashville! He teased us with messages that said:

  • Impromptu acoustic jam tonight in Nashville.. It will be like old times. Me,.. My buddies. Great songs. Good times. Come party!
  • Wow… Looks like I sparked some interest. So “if” I was playing at a quaint pub in Nashville,… Who’s coming? ;)
  • Alley Pub Bellevue… 830-?? Bring it

I couldn’t pass up the chance to see Jake Owen live so I threw myself together got a few friends and headed out to Alley Pub.  Finding the place was a bit of a problem when Hilda (my GPS – yes I named my GPS) kept redirecting us around different parts of Nashville but thankfully we got there before he started playing. Jake was there when we got there a little past 8:30.  He looked so cute and laid back in his baseball cap.  Then he disappeared to fix his hair and change!  LOL – it made us giggle that he left to do his hair.

Jake really knows how to throw a party.  Much to our great surprise Jake brought a few of his friends; Lee Brice, Danielle Peck and Eric Durrance

There was NO set list for the night.  Jake and his friends played everything from “Don’t Think I Can’t Love You” to Prince’s “Purple Rain”.  The entire night was filled with a packed crowd who sang along and had a great time.

We met a Jake fan, Theresa, who drove three hours just for the “Twitter Party”.  She was front and center for the whole show!  Jake also mentioned that some of the people in the crowd drove down from Louisville, KY!

Jake doesn’t disapoint his fans.  This is the second time I have had the pleasure to talk to him and he remembered CMTT from CRS week, thanked us for our support and took the time to even buy us drinks and take pictures. Tawny stayed home to babysit our kids and Jake even took the time to sign an autograph for her since she wasn’t able to come.

If you have not had the pleasure to see Jake live or even hear his music PLEASE go out and buy his record “Easy Does It”.  Jake is someone who takes care of his fans and is making it fun for us to love him.

On a sidenote -

Lee Brice!  I LOVE Lee Brice! If you don’t know who he is check out his website.  He is an amazing song writer.  He helped write Garth Brooks’ “More Than a Memory” and has also helped write some of Adam Gregory’s songs – “Crazy Days” and “What It Takes”.

A few of his songs that you should know are: She ain’t Right and Upper Middle Class White Trash.   He is a teddy bear who has a great personality.  He’s someone you just want to kick back and have a few beers with.  Check him out

All of the pictures and a video from the performance are on our Flickr page

Adam Gregory Sits Down with CMTT at CRS

We caught up with Adam Gregory during CRS week and were even more impressed with who he is as an artist than when we had our first encounter with him at the Tin Roof a few months back.

Adam performed at the Digital Rodeo showcase Friday night and blew my mind with his rendetion of Justin Timerlake’s song “What Goes Around Comes Around”.  I can’t wait for you to see it.  We have the performace on tape and are working on getting it online for you very soon.

Adam also took time from his hectic schedule of interviews and performances on Friday to help the Operation Troop Aid begin their assembly of 500 care packages containing phone cards, MP3s, beef jerky, trail mix, hand wipes, hand sanitizer, cookies, candy, granola bars, toiletry items and thank you letters to U.S. troops deployed overseas.

Take a listen and get to know Adam Gregory.  CMTT predicts he is sticking around Nashville for a very long time.

Adam Gregory Fan Review

One of our readers, Alison,  was lucky enough to catch Adam Gregory on Friday night in Lexington.  Thanks so much to Alison for sending us a full review with pictures and a video!

The concert was at a bar in Lexington, Cadillac Ranch. I called earlier this week to get info. They told me the doors opened at 6. I just recently got my license cause I am super lazy. So I am not very good at driving in the dark yet so I tried to get there before the sun set. I got there at 6:20. I was so excited when I was leaving I forgot to grab a jacket so it was rather cold. I got to the door and it was locked..I stood there for a few minutes and then called them and asked what time they opened and he said he was hoping for 6 and I said yeah I was hoping the same thing I am out in the cold. So he came and let me in…for the next 3 hours I was the ONLY one in the bar. They had a big screen on stage that played music videos. All of them for were for promo use only so I got to see alot of up and coming artist so that was cool.

Adam was suppose to start at  10. This was my first time going to a concert solo since most of my friends are underage they coulnd’t go and my friends that are of age had other plans. So I was standing there all my lonesome when someone comes up and taps me on sholder. I turn around and see the girl I had sat next to at the Luke Bryan concert I had went to in August. I was like yay a friendly face.

So a little after 10 Adam came on stage. If he is not the cutest thing ever. He sang 15 songs. I was trying to count so I could report back but I forgot after 3 that I was counting so I stole a set list. He did two covers, “What The Cowgirls Do” and “Liza Jane” He says he really likes Vince Gill.  There were only 100 or so people at the bar and only a few of them were actual there for the show but Adam didn’t seem to mind this fact.He actually made a funny joke with it…he said ” Thanks for coming to see me,actually I don’t think some of you came to see me and you don’t know me from Adam” lol I was cracking up.  He gave it his all.  He sneezed after one of the songs and we said “bless you” and he informed us that he sneezes at least 60 times a day. YAY for random Adam facts.

Afterwards he stayed around and signed autographs. He was super nice . He also has a killer smile ahhh I almost melted. I talked to his tour manager lady Shelley and she gave me some good tips for moving to Nashville so that was helpful. I always try to talk to people at concerts to see what they say and what kind of tips they give about that. I was about to walk out the door when I remembered that they had concert posters in the bathroom so I ran to the back and got the very last one. I jumped back in line again and got my poster signed. He told me to drive safely (maybe he knows I suck at it lol).

All in all I had an awesome time. If you get the chance to see him, take it. you won’t regret it.

Tin Roof Music in the City Rocked It!

Tawny and I went to the Music in the City at the Tin Roof in Nashville last night.  The ENTIRE night was filled with amazing talent.  I was expecting to have a fun night but never did I imagine the talent that would be in the room.

We got to hear acoustic performances from The Carter Twins, Adam Gregory, Walker Hayes, Trent Tomlinson, Ashton Shepherd and Luke Bryan.   Jessica Andrews was supposed to be there but was not.

The Carter Twins were the first to take the stage and I was happily surprised with what I heard.   They are cute as a button and their harmony is amazing.  Ok, I know men don’t like to be called “cute as a button” but they are!!!  LOL  – I think it’s the mom coming out of me – they are 18 and have a whole life of talent to look forward to.  They have a new single hitting the radio on Monday called Heart like Memphis.  Check it out on their MySpace page.

Adam Gregory hit the stage next.  I know a lot of people have been talking about him but I was not familiar with his music until last night.  He definitely has a soulfulness to his music that I really like.  And he is one of the nicest artists that I have met.  He took his time to talk with all of his fans after his set last night.  He is touring right now so check out his schedule on his MySpace page and catch a show if he comes close to you.

Walker Hayes is new newest artist to sign with Capitol Records and I can’t wait to hear more from him.  He is funny, good looking and can sing!  He is the whole package.  Tawny REALLY liked Walker.  I will let her update you about him later….  Check out his MySpace to hear his music.

Trent Tomlinson ran on stage and then ran off.  I really like his music and usually he is a great performer but I feel like he was rushed last night.  I think he sang 3 songs and then he disappeared.

Ashton Shepherd came on next and you could tell that the crowd was full of fans.  She had a strong voice and is very like able.  She is one of those girls that other girls look at and say – “I could be friends with her.”  Her Alabama roots made her the “most country” person in the room according to Luke Bryan.  Takin Off this Pain was my favorite song from her last night.  “Girl Power” rocks!

So Luke Bryan was last on stage and boy was it worth the wait.  I already knew that Luke Bryan was a great performer but last night rocked my socks off.  No set list, sang by the seat of his pants – literally.  He is SO much fun.  I good ol’ country boy.  Everybody in the Tin Roof was on there feet singing and dancing.  If you have not already seen Luke live YOU HAVE TO!!!!!  You will fall in love with his charm and humor.   After signing an autograph for Tawny he told us that he would be back for a picture but unfortunately the crowd was a little rowdy and he left to the private quarters next door.

Overall the night was fantastic.  I was proud to be a country music fan and am so excited to see what these new artists are going to do.  You can see more pictures from the night on our MySpace page.  www.myspace.com/countrymusictattletale

Tawny has more pictures to share to – she will get them up later today or tomorrow.

I had to add our picture with Lance Smith to the mix.  He was the host for the night and was a lot of fun.  He signed an autograph for me with Dr’s orders : )

Tuesday – That’s Tomorrow

Just a heads up – I can’t promise a whole lot of posts tomorrow. I have to get up at the butt crack of dawn to head downtown to go to court because some dumb ass decided to get drunk and crash into our car in October. Oh – and did I mention he didn’t stop after he sideswiped the car! Anyways, court at 7:45 am then I am heading down to the Tin Roof with Tawny for the Nashville Lifestyles Music in the City Bash.

Make sure to check the blog on Wednesday because we will have pictures of cutie Luke Bryan, Jessica Andrews, Adam Gregory and more!

What I will promise you is that sometime tomorrow – I WILL post the entire new single from Rascal Flatts – “Here Comes Goodbye”.  I cannot wait to hear the entire song – it is sure to be amazing.  I expect nothing less from my guys.
