Starting in December, Garth Brooks will be doing Vegas. He’s coming out of a nine-year retirement to perform intimate acoustic shows at the Wynn Las Vegas hotel. This won’t be “Arena-Garth” that so many of us like to remember. For much, or all of each show, it’ll be him and his guitar.
He says that’s how it used to be before he got a record deal and played a club in Stillwater, Oklahoma. But, he says he expects to have some guest artists join him once in a while. And, he says every show will be different. The arrangement is to play 15 weekends a year up to five years. Garth says by that time “hopefully, we get to go back out on tour again.”
He says he’s taking “the retirement roof off” of his head. He’s been retired for nine years, spending time with his family and concentrating on raising his three daughters with his wife, Trisha Yearwood, and ex-wife, Sandy Mahl. His daughters are now 17, 15 and 13. Garth says his decision to return to work and perform in Vegas was based on two offers that were pretty hard to pass up. 1.) The performance dates will be selected based on family commitments and 2.) owner of the Wynn Las Vegas hotel is giving him his own private jet! Having a private jet means he can fly between his home in Oklahoma and Las Vegas and never miss a beat with his family.
Here’s your chance to see Garth!
He’ll do an 8 p.m. show on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. Plus, he’ll do a 10:30 p.m. show on Saturday night for a total of four shows per weekend. So far he has nailed down five weekends. They are the weekends of December 11, January 1, January 22, February 12 and February 26.
All tickets are the same base price of $125, no matter what seat you’re assigned. Add on a $5 service charge and $13 in tax and the total for each ticket is $143. Tickets for the first group of shows go on sale Saturday, October 24 at 8 in the morning Pacific time, which is 9 Mountain, 10 Central and 11 Eastern. Tickets are available two ways: online at www.WynnLasVegas.com/boxoffice or by calling 702-770-7469. They are not available in person at the hotel at this time.
