Carrie Underwood’s in a Giving Mood

Last week, Carrie Underwood donated $117,000 worth of musical instruments to her hometown school in Checotah, OK as part of her Checotah Animal, Town, and School foundation.

I am so proud to have come from such a wonderful community that helped shape me as a person,” said Underwood, “and I can think of nothing better than to share the gift of music with the students in my hometown. It’s so great to be able to give back in a way that can truly better the lives of these kids and help create dreams and opportunities. I’d like to give a very special thanks to the Academy of Country Music’s Lifting Lives for helping me make this dream come true

I love it when those more fortunate give back…especially to their roots.

Although it seems as if a lot of fans and the general public think fame has gone to Carrie’s head a bit, I think this is a GREAT thing for her to be doing, and she did it so quickly, she does not mess around when it comes to being chartible. I commend Carrie for starting her own foundation and being so loyal to her hometown from the begining of her career. It is so obvious that the people and town of Chacota mean the world to her, and she hasn’t forgotten them.
