Jennette Mccurdy who plays Sam on the Nickeloden show iCarly was just signed earlier this week to Capitol Records! She just turned 17 and actually has a good voice. She already has 2 singles on itunes,which I am totally in love with “So Close”. Her other song “Homeless Heart” was actually written for a friend of hers she lost to cancer and when you buy the track the money or a portion of it goes to a charity that is in his name! I like how she is a country fan, and not fake at all. She is actually learning guitar and has been writing. A LOT more than what we’ve seen others *cough miley cough* try to pull off!
At least she will fit in right at home with the country music Twitter world…she first announced her record deal on her Twitter page! I have not personally listened to her music yet…..on my to do list.

I remember when you actually had to live a little to sing country music. Now radio just lets anybody do it. It was nice when country music used to be music for adults. I really hope a lot more country artists start mimicking Jamey Johnson instead of Taylor Swift. I mean, did country music really need a Gloriana, Love & Theft, Miley Cyrus, or Jenette whoever? No.
By the way, I grew up listening to Motley Crue, and Carrie’s cover is horrible… No, I’m not normally this negative…I’ve just never been a fan of pop music
Adam, I hate Carries cover as well,but I just find it nice that she is looking up to someone that’s a lot more wholesome than most of the other choices out there for kids these days. Plus if I had a child,I much rather them look up to someone like Jennette rather than some of the other tween choices available. Spunky,honest,and clothed is so much better than the alternative for a young girl than the unrealistic images out there.
